Do you feel lost in the vastness of the internet while searching for the right horse?
Are you unsure whether a long journey for a trial ride will truly be worthwhile, and whether a horse will live up to its first impression in the long term?

The founders of German Horse Center, Tanja and Stefan, faced exactly these challenges in 2006 when searching for a horse for Tanja. They wished for a single, reliable platform offering a curated selection of high-quality horses, presented transparently and trained with the horse’s well-being in mind, so buyers could make confident, informed decisions. As no such platform existed at the time, they decided to create it themselves.

German Horse Center was founded on clear principles: carefully selected partner stables, realistic descriptions and honest videos without exaggeration, professional trainers to support both horse and rider, and a comprehensive service from first contact through purchase and aftercare. Since 2009, GHC has represented some of Germany’s leading stud farms, trainers, and professional riders, offering horses ranging from young talents to proven Grand Prix competitors.

A central element of our philosophy is fairness to the horse. All partner stables commit contractually to training methods based on classical riding principles, with the horse’s welfare as the highest priority. We firmly believe that it is better not to complete a sale than to place a horse and rider in an unsuitable partnership.

In 2022, Tanja and Stefan handed over German Horse Center to selected partner stables in order to pursue new projects. Since then, GHC has been managed by Felix Klaphake, who brings extensive international experience and deep industry connections through his family’s background in top-level show jumping. Under his leadership, the core values of German Horse Center, transparency, quality, and responsibility, remain unchanged.
