Early life

Lovely Day originates from the same breeder as her sire Lucky Champ, who has already sired a number of highly successful Grand-Prix-Horses. The GHC partner obtained her directly from the breeder as a six-year-old. She was previously used for breeding and produced a spectacular foal.

This mare is a latecomer to equestrian sport, having only started regular training under the saddle at the age of six. Nevertheless she is a very quick learner and is able to participate in dressage tests at medium level. Her first starts in this class were highly promising. She also shows her potential for the advanced class with promising first attempts at piaffe and passage, and already has a command of 4- and 3-tempi changes.

During her first competition season in 2016 Lovely Day has already collected ribbons in the snaffle and double bridle elementary class. Particular highlights of her tests are her spectacular trot and great uphill canter.

A talented, well-behaved mare that is sensitive and eager to work.

What sort of rider does the horse need?

Her good riding qualities make this future Grand Prix horse particularly suitable for ambitious junior or lady riders. Lovely Day combines the top dressage genes of the Holstein breed which provide her with great breeding potential.
